Presentations:
Smarter Fleet – Safer Streets: The positive power of technology enriched risk management
The City of Peterborough has advanced their use of integrated technologies to optimize their fleet, routes, response times, incident investigations & claims defense, community engagement and so much more! Today’s presentation will provide a whirlwind look at some of the partners and processes they use at Peterborough Public Works.
Leveraging Advanced Distribution Monitoring to Reduce Water Loss and Improve Operations
This presentation will explore how Lincoln successfully utilized advanced distribution monitoring, incorporating AMI data and smart hydrants, to reduce water loss and optimize the overall performance of their distribution system. As a result of the program's success, Lincoln was awarded the 2023 OWWA Water Efficiency Award and the 2024 Environmental Leadership & Sustainability Award, recognizing its significant impact on both efficiency and sustainability.
The Building of a Rural Town’s Spatial Easement Inventory
In order for the Town of Tecumseh to improve asset management, data accuracy and integrity, Teranet helped implement an easement program to identify, validate and map the Town’s registered municipal easements related to their infrastructure. Understanding the distinctive needs of a small municipality, Teranet developed a phased project approach to digitally transform Tecumseh’s easement inventory to improve staff access to the vital information required to serve their community.
The latest of NBI and Geotab to maximize government fleet operations
In this session, we will explore Northern BI and Geotab elevates telematics services and delivers enhanced value to public-sector clients. The presentation will provide insight into the latest features, dashboards, updates, and products from Geotab, focusing on how these innovations drive efficiencies and improvements for municipal and public-sector fleets. The presentation will highlight Northern BI’s Data Exchange and it’s role in unlocking deeper insights and maximizing the potential of telematics data, including real-world case studies that demonstrate the impact of telematics on public safety fleet operations. Learn how these advanced solutions improve safety, response times, and operational oversight for emergency services and law enforcement agencies.
Data Challenges and Sewer Network Management: A Municipal View
Effective management of sewer networks is essential for maintaining urban infrastructure and ensuring public health. However, municipalities face numerous challenges in collecting, managing, and utilizing data to monitor and optimize these systems. This presentation explores the key data-related issues that cities encounter in sewer network management, including data fragmentation, inconsistent reporting, integration with legacy systems, and real-time monitoring. We will examine how these challenges impact decision-making and operational efficiency, and discuss strategies to overcome them, such as implementing standardized data protocols, investing in smart technologies, and fostering cross-department collaboration. By addressing these data challenges, municipalities can enhance their ability to maintain, upgrade, and expand sewer infrastructure, ultimately leading to improved service delivery and sustainability.
Enhancing Public Sector Construction Project Delivery using Builterra’s Digital Pathway
This presentation will outline Builterra as a comprehensive digital platform offering significant value-added benefits across the entire lifecycle of construction projects. By facilitating a seamless "digital pathway" from CAD/BIM design to post-construction inspections, Builterra enhances efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration within organizations.
Get with the beat (of data) – a new era of convenience with pavement assessments powered by CITYROVER Pulse
Step into the future of pavement management with this cutting-edge session on how data-driven technologies are transforming municipal infrastructure assessments. Representatives from the City of Markham and Visual Defence will introduce CITYROVER Pulse, an innovative tool that harnesses the power of data and AI to streamline pavement assessments.
Plant Capacity Expansion via Membrane Bio Reactor Technology of the Drumbo WWTP
Increasing the capacity of an existing wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) involves multiple considerations, chief among them being the space available at the plant site. In heavily constrained sites, proper use of technology can allow gaining large hydraulic capacities that meet stringent effluent criteria while maximizing use of existing assets. This presentation showcases how employing MBR technology increased the capacity of the Drumbo WWTP, Oxford County, within a restricted site space. The design and technology used also made provisions for future capacity increase within the structures built/retrofitted as part of the project, while also coordinating shared assets with the County’s Water Operations to meet the operational and maintenance requirements of the drinking water system infrastructure located within the same site
