This presentation will aim to highlight what digital twins are and are not, the collaboration and partnerships required between the private and public sectors to advance the use of Digital Twins within our industry, and how to assess if your project or proposal is a good fit for a Digital Twin.

110:20 – 11:00: The Coxwell Bypass Tunnel: Design and Construction Overview by Matthew McGrath
The City of Toronto’s Don River and Central Waterfront Wet Weather (DRCW)project aims to reduce combined sewer overflows into Lake Ontario and the Don River watershed. Over the next 25 years, approximately 22km of tunnel, 27connections, and 12 shafts will be constructed in the Greater Toronto Area. This presentation will provide an overview of the first phase of the DRCW project, known as the Coxwell Bypass Tunnel. The presentation will highlight some of the key design and construction aspects of the project, which consists of a 10.5km long by6.3m inner diameter precast concrete segmentally lined rock tunnel, including 5large-diameter storage shafts, 2 large diversion chamber structures, and 11 small-diameter drop shafts.
